THE SKAITH OF GUILLARDUN: 52 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: WHILE WITH HIMSELF HE WRESTLED DAY BY DAY
Last Line: EVER THOU FINDEST ENTRY UNAWARE!
Subject(s): HEARTS; LOVE; PASSION;

While with himself he wrestled day by day,
His passion sore chastised more chasten'd grew.
Now doth his vacillating mind assay
Such perilous visits never to renew,
Nor could he yet his smoking heart allay,
Which kept the pale temptation full in view.
O Love! in vain thy breach we may repair,
Ever thou findest entry unaware!
