THE SKAITH OF GUILLARDUN: 54 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: THE SWEETEST DREAM FORESHADOWS AN AWAKING
Last Line: SO THRO' THE WORLD THEY TWAIN TOGETHER FARED.
Subject(s): HEARTS; LOVE - COMPLAINTS; PASSION;

The sweetest dream foreshadows an awaking,
True love is oft the harbinger of pain—
How many hearts upon Life's wheel are breaking!
How many lips have seal'd their troth in vain!
How many souls, all earthly hopes forsaking,
Shall yet embark upon Love's shoreless main!
Even so these lovers—each had greatly dared,
So thro' the world they twain together fared.
