THE SKAITH OF GUILLARDUN: 55 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: BUT SWIFT UPON THEIR DREAM CAME WINGED FATE
Last Line: PRESSINGLY TO TAKE SHIP ACROSS THE SEA.
Subject(s): FIGHTS; KNIGHTS & KNIGHTHOOD;

But swift upon their dream came wingéd Fate—
Time had avenged the knight of his deep wrong.
The land he loved fierce war did desolate,
While round his liege unmanner'd traitors throng.
Him now his chasten'd lord would reinstate,
And, vex'd that he his sojourn should prolong,
Besought him by his oath of fealty
Pressingly to take ship across the sea.
