THE SKAITH OF GUILLARDUN: 59 by CHARLES WHITWORTH WYNNE

First Line: DEAR LORD, YOUR ABSENCE I MAY NOT SUSTAIN
Last Line: APART, THE LONG SUSPENSE I COULD NOT BEAR.'
Subject(s): HEARTS; PRESENCE;

'Dear lord, your absence I may not sustain,
For die I should of anguish, you being gone.
Perchance you might in battail sore be slain,
And I be left to everlasting moan!
Let not the waves dispart, nor winds constrain
Hearts that reverberate and beat as one!
Beside you, I can still the fret of fear;
Apart, the long suspense I could not bear.'
