Fairest Lord Jesus,
Ruler of nature!
Jesus, of God and of Mary the Son!
Thee will I cherish,
Thee will I honor;
Thee, my delight, and my glory, and crown!

Fair are the meadows,
Fairer the woodlands,
Robed in the flowery vesture of spring:
Jesus is fairer,
Jesus is purer,
Making my sorrowful spirit to sing!

Fair is the moonshine,
Fairer the sunlight,
Than all the starry, celestial host:
Jesus shines brighter,
Jesus shines purer,
Than all the angels that heaven can boast!
