WHAT IS HOME?, by WINIFRED W. GARDNER First Line: Home is not a palace gay Last Line: Where these are found, home is the best. Subject(s): Home | ||||||||
Home is not a palace gay That one oft views upon his way; Is not color of particular hue, Though to any home it may be due. Home is not in four square walls Where John Paine after paying his all's Was incarcerated, possibly late, In dingy walls of old Nugate. But inspiration from that prison cell Bethought John Paine who wrote it well; The humbleness of one's estate Does not a true home berate. Home is where love and peace are found; Where joy of soul may still abound, Content, peace, joy, love and rest -- Where these are found, home is the best. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...EL FLORIDA ROOM by RICHARD BLANCO DESTINATIONS by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN TO THIS HOUSE by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE UPSTAIRS ROOM by WELDON KEES HOME IS SO SAD by PHILIP LARKIN DUTCH INTERIOR by DAVID LEHMAN UNRULY TONGUE by WINIFRED W.
