UNRULY TONGUE, by WINIFRED W. GARDNER First Line: If someone repudiate a brother Last Line: Wagging tongues, the lord will smit. Subject(s): Gossip | ||||||||
If someone repudiate a brother, Be not in haste to tell it; Do not stoop to harm another, Though the truth abound, propellate. Hold they tongue, express it not; Keep soul clean from tittle-tattle; On friend or foe cast no blot, Emerge victor in the battle. Every one guarding his tongue, -- Unruly member of Holy Writ, Will help to move the world among Wagging tongues, the Lord will smit. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE WANDERER: 1.
