REINCARNATION, by JOSEPHINE HERMANSON First Line: Within the room where death has taken toll Last Line: Of death. Triumphant life takes hold anew. Subject(s): Reincarnation; Sonnet (as Literary Form); Transmigration; Pretas | ||||||||
Within the room where death has taken toll Is only emptiness. Where life has been Is nothing now. The fearful wage of sin Has drained away the strength that lives in soul And left a corpse, the symbol of the whole. The clay will keep the place that each must win Again when only dust of bone and skin Persists. The quiet angels play their role; About the lifeless matter flowers bloom; Rich warmth of sunshine filters through the dust; Sweet love from faithful hearts then rushes through. The willing hand of life unlocks the tomb. Dispelled eternally is every lust Of Death. Triumphant life takes hold anew. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...PINSK AFTER DARK by ALLEN GINSBERG TRANSFORMATIONS by THOMAS HARDY PRE-EXISTENCE by PAUL HAMILTON HAYNE ETERNITY by GRACE GRISWOLD BISBY REINCARNATION by ALICE CHURCHILL CHAPHE UNREGENERATE by JACQUELINE EMBRY SECOND LIFE by JOHANN WOLFGANG VON GOETHE THE POEMS OF COLD MOUNTAIN: 100 by HAN SHAN THE HAWK by WILLIAM BUTLER YEATS |
