NEEDLES ROAD, by GERNIE HUNTER First Line: Lost on a winding roadway Last Line: And the curve of needles road! Subject(s): Mountains; Roads; Hills; Downs (great Britain); Paths; Trails | ||||||||
Lost on a winding roadway, Drunk with the scent of pine, A flaming sun retiring And all the world is mine! Up from the sleepy valley, I pass an eagle's nest, With agile step and daring To a mountain's shaggy crest! With azure tones above me And granite spires below, That cradle aching beauty Mere words can never show, I pause, with heart uplifted, A chalice overflowed, Marked by a lyric silence And the curve of Needles Road! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HE FINDS THE MANSION by JAMES MCMICHAEL BY DIFFERENT PATHS by MARVIN BELL DRIVING HOME by MADELINE DEFREES ART IS PARALLEL TO NATURE by CLARENCE MAJOR HIGHWAY 2, ILLINOIS by LISEL MUELLER |
