A SHOWER, by MABEL ETHLEEN PALMER First Line: See, the clouds in troops are must'ring Last Line: Brilliant, beautiful, and clear. Subject(s): Rain | ||||||||
See, the clouds in troops are must'ring While the sky seems overcast; 'Mid the hurry and the scurry Go wee cloudlets scamp'ring past. Now a golden streak of lightning Pierces through the leaden sky -- Flashes follow one another Leading dashing raindrops by; Sunshine comes, and raindrops falter, Then in serried lines draw near, And a rainbow spans the heavens, Brilliant, beautiful, and clear. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...DISTANT RAINFALL by ROBINSON JEFFERS CHAMBER MUSIC: 32 by JAMES JOYCE HEAVY SUMMER RAIN by JANE KENYON CROWD CORRALLING by MARGARET AVISON THE RAIN-POOL by KARLE WILSON BAKER ON THE GREAT ATLANTIC RAINWAY by KENNETH KOCH CHASING A RAINBOW OF DREAMS by MABEL ETHLEEN PALMER WAITER IN A CALIFORNIA VIETNAMESE RESTURANT by CLARENCE MAJOR |
