MUZIO, by ALICE PHELPS RIDER First Line: Rainbow colors flame and glow Last Line: When I list to muzio! Subject(s): Music & Musicians | ||||||||
Rainbow colors flame and glow When I hark to Muzio. Silver filigree is fair But her notes are far more rare; Gossamer of dreams are they, Soft and sweet as break of day, Crystal clear and pure as frost, Light as foam when tempest tossed. When she laughs or when she sights Starry beams are in her eyes. In her beauty and her grace, In her wistful, tender face Are the outward signs of art; But her voice is of the heart, Like a vivid, skyborn thing, Like a lilting bird on wing, Opalescent as the dawn, Mystic as when night draws on. Moonlight shimmers, zephyrs blow When I list to Muzio! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LINER NOTES TO AN IMAGINARY PLAYLIST by TERRANCE HAYES VARIATIONS: 13 by CONRAD AIKEN BELIEVE, BELIEVE by BOB KAUFMAN ROUND ABOUT MIDNIGHT by BOB KAUFMAN MUSIC by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES THE POWER OF MUSIC by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES |
