THE MOON'S LOVE, by
First Line: The moon told me she loved the night
Last Line: The night about her love?
Subject(s): Moon

The moon told me she loved the night,
I did not think it so
Until I saw her smile at him
With lovely, mystic glow.

She flirts with clouds, she plays with stars,
She smiles with sheer delight,
And though they love her -- stars and clouds,
Her own love is the night.

Yet darkly he keeps passing by,
And she still smiles above;
Will no one ever dare to tell
The night about her love?
