MAIDEN LADY, by KATHERINE KELLY WOODLEY First Line: She built herself a little house Last Line: Go toddling 'cross the floor. Subject(s): Ghosts; Supernatural | ||||||||
She built herself a little house Upon a quiet street And lives a lonely, sterile life, Sufficient and complete. No guests have ever entered there But strangers passing by Report the oddest kind of sounds, -- A word, a kiss, a sigh. And oftentimes on stormy nights, Above the thunder's roar They hear a ghostly pit-a-pat Go toddling 'cross the floor. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...IN THE EVENINGS by LUCILLE CLIFTON THE MOTHS: 1.
