TO B... by JAMES R. AGGELES

First Line: I LISTEN FOR YOUR COMING
Last Line: I WILT.
Subject(s): ABSENCE; LOVE; SEPARATION; ISOLATION;

I listen for your coming through the corridor
With bated breath
As I shall one day strain to hear the sign
That will pronounce to my transcendent happiness
My worthiness of paradise.
For even as the roses droop
Denied the sun, my love
Without your love ...
I wilt.
