AUTUMN SOLILOQUY by ELSIE DINWIDDIE BARTLETT

First Line: THE MOAN OF DYING LEAVES FALLS HAUNTINGLY
Last Line: OR AGONY THAT BEAUTY CANNOT LAST?
Subject(s): AUTUMN; SEASONS; FALL;

The moan of dying leaves falls hauntingly
To echo in my heart;
Can this be fear of winter's chilling blast,
Or agony that beauty cannot last?
