A POINT OF VIEW by LETITIA A. BRACE

First Line: WHAT SHALL I DO / WHEN YOU ARE GONE?
Last Line: AND THE SCENT OF RAIN.
Subject(s): SOLITUDE; LONELINESS;

What shall I do
When you are gone?
Oh -- there will still be stars,
And a windy dawn --

I shall be lonely?
Yes -- but then
There will still be rhymes to make
And words to spin --

And the waning thrust
Of remembered pain
Shall be less at last than hills
And the scent of rain.
