RONDEAU by JEAN FROISSART

First Line: MY HEART ENJOYS THE FRAGRANCE OF THE ROSE
Last Line: TIS RAPTURED WHEN IT SEES MY LADY FAIR.

MY heart enjoys the fragrance of the Rose,
'Tis raptured when it sees my Lady fair;
The first more profit that the last bestows,
My heart enjoys the fragrance of the Rose.

Wholesome the scent, but by my soul I swear,
To gaze is greater danger than I dare;
My heart enjoys the fragrance of the Rose,
'Tis raptured when it sees my Lady fair.
