Subject(s): Roads; Travel; Vacation; Paths; Trails; Journeys; Trips

THE road winds grey, deserted,
Trodden hard by many feet.

Quiet, and empty the space
That echoed lively voices
And the beat of lilting hearts.

Each term, they come, crowns gleam ...!
A few years and they are carried
Into life's sucking stream.

Tall trees like veiled, grave figures,
Mist muffled, in silence stand.

The road winds grey, deserted,
Waiting for many feet.
