I WOULD I COULD DANCE, by
Last Line: Fore your laughing eye.
Subject(s): Ambition; Dancing & Dancers; Longing

I would I could dance
So lightly and airily,
Toe tripping, feet skipping,
So gracefully, fairily.

My soul I would pawn
To be able to twirl,
To make pulses quicken
As I prance and whirl.

I would I could dance --
You scoff as I try --
My clown antics prance
'Fore your laughing eye.
