THANKSGIVING SONG, by
First Line: I brought my gifts to the altar
Last Line: Reach upward toward the sun.
Subject(s): Altars; Holidays; Religion; Thanksgiving; Turkey; Theology

I brought my gifts to the altar—
Rich fruits from my Autumn store
Knelt long in the candled glory
The mysteries of Christ to adore.

And then, on a golden Autumn hill
Where frost its magic had just begun,
I saw a naked pagan lad
Reach upward toward the sun.
