Oh, my dear,
I sang my songs
For all to hear
Of shining stars,
And joyous deer,
And soft birds flying.

When you left me,
Oh, my dear,
I sang my songs,
For all to hear,
Of misty stars,
And limp-eyed deer,
And soft birds dying.
