FOOT NOTE TO EDEN, by ANNETTE PATTON CORNELL First Line: This I shall remember Last Line: Where we came out. Subject(s): Eden | ||||||||
This I shall remember Beyond all time and space: We owned one Spring together; And Eden was a place With little knowing tables And candles blue and tall, With cobwebs on the ceiling And shadows on the wall. There is no gate to Eden Nor any threshold where The wary hearted falter And wonder if they dare. Though we were there I never knew Just how it came about -- Or how we happened on the place Where we came out. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...I HAVE BEEN A STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND' by RITA DOVE MORE THEOLOGY by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS TWO TREES IN KATHMANDU by KAREN SWENSON SPRING by GERARD MANLEY HOPKINS THEOLOGY by EDWARD JAMES HUGHES PARADISE LOST: BOOK 1 by JOHN MILTON A SONG OF THE WESTERN EDEN by HOPE S.
