MY NET PRODUCT, by
First Line: Great sage and famed economist
Last Line: And the 'net product'--happiness.

GREAT sage and famed economist,
Who the 'net product' dost admire,
Your words are: 'Show me now the list
Of things which give all you desire.'
Your joys? Old friends that never tire.
Your health? By temperance kept straight.
Your toils? I write and meditate.
Your wants? All longings to repress.
Your wealth? My independent state.
And the 'net product'--Happiness.
