UNFINISHED, by                    
First Line: There's something lovely
Last Line: Would meet, but do not dare.


There's something lovely
In a thing unfinished --
A night that's almost changed to morn.
There's something tantalizing in this symbol --
A thing about to be, and yet unborn.

A symphony that's not completed,
The drops left in a goblet, clear,
A hint of fragrance, lost, yet half-remembered,
A wave of laughter touched with notes of fear.

A bud that soon may chance to open,
The indecision of the twilight air,
Of lips that poised for love's expression
Would meet, but do not dare.
