THE LITTLE PATH, by
First Line: It winds across a little hill
Last Line: To the haven of my heart.
Subject(s): Mountains; Hills; Downs (great Britain)

It winds across a little hill
And through a meadow green,
And wanders by a shady brook,
O'er which the willows lean.

The violets plead, "Oh, linger here."
The robins cry, "Please wait."
But the path runs on until it stops
Beside a little gate.

Though travel-stained and worn with time,
'Tis of my life a part,
Each night I follow it back agin
To the haven of my heart.
