Sing ho for a garden
An old-fashioned garden,
A garden of roses
And lilacs, and rue;
With nobody in it
Save you and a linnet,
And a fairy to spin it—
A necklace of dew.

Sing ho for a meadow,
A silver-green meadow,
With lush grasses shielding
Its bird-tenants few;
Where drowsy wings quiver,
And slow runs the river,
And the face of the river
Is a mirror for you.
