Take me -- Bear me gently -- lightly Winds of heaven Waves of sea. Scrub me clean against shore pebbles; Warm me -- Dry me on a sand dune Ripple Sliding silver grain Slip me to the starlight's glimmer. Gleam, Greenish, oily gold; And you will hear me in my dreaming Sing a sea-song or a dream-song. Take me -- Bear me gently -- lightly Winds of heaven Waves of sea. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY |
