NO OTHER WORD, by E. B. GRIMES First Line: There's no other word that's spoken 'neath the starry Last Line: And of all we fondly cherish, none can ever fill her place. Subject(s): Mothers | ||||||||
THERE'S no other word that's spoken 'neath the starry sky above, Can so touch our hearts as "Mother" or inspite so pure a love. It awakened with our being, and in sweet maternal ways, It was hallowed as 'twas nurtured in our happy childhood days. In our eyes and thoughts no other has so kind and saintly face, And of all we fondly cherish, none can ever fill her place. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MY MOTHER'S HANDS by ANDREW HUDGINS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS IN THE 25TH YEAR OF MY MOTHER'S DEATH by JUDY JORDAN THE PAIDLIN' WEAN by ALEXANDER ANDERSON BLASTING FROM HEAVEN by PHILIP LEVINE EMERGENCY HAYING by HAYDEN CARRUTH |
