Of grass, insurgent bud aware, We in the loop of sudden spring, Trammelled by tangled green and song Nostalgic on the ear, Thrown by the lariat of sun Are branded with initialled fear. Between the brazen daffodil Sprawling headlines through the park Between the question on the wind, On lintels of the hill, And storage in the hollow tree Joy adds a hasty codicil. For we are the muscled living, therefore Make a hasty signature, Dispossess the urgent root Certify the heir: Fear, in the framework of the wind, This, and the threat of fear, and fear. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
