LIVING WATER, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: The fountain in its source
Last Line: At evening they are dry.
Alternate Author Name(s): Guion, De La Mothe; Guyon, Jeanne Marie Bouvieres De La Mothe; Guyon Du Chesnoy

THE fountain in its source
No drought of summer fears;
The farther it pursues its course
The nobler it appears.

But shallow cisterns yield
A scanty short supply;
The morning sees them amply filled,
At evening they are dry.
