DREAM MOMENTS, by ALLETHA GOSS HARGRAVE First Line: Faint trailing wisps of clouds Last Line: When thou art night. Subject(s): Dreams; Nightmares | ||||||||
Faint trailing wisps of clouds Across an azure sky; Soft whispering of the wind Tell me thou art nigh. Sweet dream-filled days of youth So quickly pass -- Building castles in the air, A lad and a lass. Soon autumn days shall come To hearts as well as earth; The music once so sweet and gay Of beauty now is dearth. But faint trailing wisps of cloud Across an azure sky; Bring dreams of peace and love When thou art night. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VARIATIONS: 14 by CONRAD AIKEN VARIATIONS: 18 by CONRAD AIKEN LIVE IT THROUGH by DAVID IGNATOW A DREAM OF GAMES by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE DREAM OF WAKING by RANDALL JARRELL APOLOGY FOR BAD DREAMS by ROBINSON JEFFERS GIVE YOUR WISH LIGHT by ROBINSON JEFFERS HOW THE GREAT GUEST CAME by EDWIN MARKHAM HYMNS OF THE MARSHES: MARSH SONG - AT SUNSET by SIDNEY LANIER |
