IS IT FOR ME?, by FRANCES RIDLEY HAVERGAL Poet's Biography First Line: Is it for me, dear saviour? Last Line: And lovingly adore. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
IS it for me, dear Saviour, Thy glory and Thy rest? For me, so weak and sinful, Oh, shall I thus be blessed? Is it for me to see Thee In all Thy glorious grace, And gaze in endless rapture On Thy beloved Face? Is it for me to listen To Thy beloved Voice, And hear its sweetest music Bid even me rejoice? Is it for me, Thy welcome, Thy gracious "Enter in"? For me, Thy "Come, ye blessed!" For me, so full of sin? O Saviour, precious Saviour, My heart is at Thy feet; I bless Thee and I love Thee, And Thee I long to meet. A thrill of solemn gladness Has hushed my very heart, To think that I shall really Behold Thee as Thou art; Behold Thee in thy beauty, Behold Thee face to face; Behold Thee in Thy glory, And reap Thy smile of grace, And be with Thee forever, And never grieve Thee more! Dear Saviour, I must praise Thee, And lovingly adore. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
