Although the room which once you knew And loved, is silent to your gait, And knows no more the pungent tang Your old pipe made as time grew late, I find a poignant gladness just To come in here, and sit, and touch A book you loved, and used to read To me. I'll never seek again for peace Nor know the joy and pain of bliss; But I have known the heights and depths Between an April day and this! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE EVENING OF THE MIND by DONALD JUSTICE CHRISTMAS AWAY FROM HOME by JANE KENYON THE PROBLEM by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES WHEN A WOMAN LOVES A MAN by DAVID LEHMAN THIS UNMENTIONABLE FEELING by DAVID LEHMAN |
