WINTER DUSK, by ANDRE-FERDINAND HEROLD Poet's Biography First Line: On the earth the snow is falling Last Line: And the snow and the twilight are falling. Subject(s): Dusk; Snow; Winter | ||||||||
On the earth the snow is falling, On the earth the twilight falls. Where have the withered leaves sped? Even the withered leaves are dead, And the snow and the twilight are falling. They are angels of evil who roar With rusty hammers against the door, Angels who slay us with anguishes appalling. And on the horizon weary clouds are crawling ... The houses are sealed like sombre tombs, And the snow and the twilight are falling. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LOOKING EAST IN THE WINTER by JOHN HOLLANDER WINTER DISTANCES by FANNY HOWE WINTER FORECAST by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN AT WINTER'S EDGE by JUDY JORDAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 34 by JAMES JOYCE MAROZIE by ANDRE-FERDINAND HEROLD |
