WINTER DUSK, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: On the earth the snow is falling
Last Line: And the snow and the twilight are falling.
Subject(s): Dusk; Snow; Winter

On the earth the snow is falling,
On the earth the twilight falls.

Where have the withered leaves sped?
Even the withered leaves are dead,
And the snow and the twilight are falling.

They are angels of evil who roar
With rusty hammers against the door,
Angels who slay us with anguishes appalling.

And on the horizon weary clouds are crawling ...

The houses are sealed like sombre tombs,
And the snow and the twilight are falling.
