DREAM SHIP, by MARY E. HILL First Line: My dream ship sails on strange, uncharted sea Last Line: In life, and going on, I grow dismayed. Subject(s): Seashore; Beach; Coast; Shore | ||||||||
My Dream Ship sails on strange, uncharted seas, And dim and distant, drifting in a breeze, Its crimson sails and golden treasure hold Await that day when all will turn to gold. My Ship of Dreams seemed very safe and sure, A refuge from life's storms, a place secure. Dear Pilot, whither now the bark must go, In memory of valor, keep it so! The pain of all the world lies on my heart As standing here, I'm thinking on the part Your honor and your gentleness once played In life, and going on, I grow dismayed. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SEASHORE by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS EASTERN LONG ISLAND by MARVIN BELL THE WIND IS BLOWING WEST by JOSEPH CERAVOLO IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN by LUCILLE CLIFTON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER EMPTIES INTO THE GULF by LUCILLE CLIFTON GEOGRAPHY AS WARNING by MADELINE DEFREES POWER FAILURE by MADELINE DEFREES |
