First Line: O fate, is it true that you can't take flight
Last Line: And for stranger keep a welcome door.
Subject(s): Fate; Destiny

O Fate, is it true that you can't take flight
And leave a body just for tonight?
So she can be those she would love to be
And live in wealth and luxury?

Oh, no, let me think; let me count the cost,
There's more in life for me.
May I never break sod like that again,
For happiness through service, I see.

O Fate, lift the veil and let me glimpse
The ways of God and man.
I see man seeking happiness in wild pursuit.
Now I see and understand.

I have lived to find that happiness comes
Through serving our fellowman.
O Fate! give me wisdom to know myself
And sufficient experience to understand.

O Fate! give me a home where happiness dwells,
Where I may see things clearly and know.
I'll live a life square, I know well that I can,
And for stranger keep a welcome door.
