DOWN A WOODLAND WAY, by MILDRED HOWELLS First Line: As I was strolling down a woodland way Last Line: Save three wild violets among the grass. | |||
As I was strolling down a woodland way, I met fair Spring, a garland on her arm; She stood a moment gazing in dismay, Then turned and fled away in swift alarm. And as I strove to follow her swift flight Along the way that I had seen her pass, No trace of her remained to meet my sight Save three wild violets among the grass. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...TO AN AMIABLE LITTLE BOY by MILDRED HOWELLS THE SONG FOR COLIN by SARA TEASDALE SONNETS FROM THE PORTUGUESE: 6 by ELIZABETH BARRETT BROWNING LIBERTY FOR ALL by WILLIAM LLOYD GARRISON THE FEILIRE OF ADAMNAN by ADAMNAN ALEC YEATON'S SON; GLOUCESTER, AUGUST, 1720 by THOMAS BAILEY ALDRICH NOCTURNE by THOMAS BAILEY ALDRICH PEARLS OF THE FAITH: 2.
