CHILD'S SONG FOR GRANDMA, by NANNIE VICTORIA JOHNSON First Line: I know where the roses grow Last Line: It's out at my grandma's. Subject(s): Grandparents; Grandmothers; Grandfathers; Great Grandfathers; Great Grandmothers | ||||||||
I know where the roses grow, I know where the fireflies go, I know where I can dance and sing And can do most anything -- It's out at my Grandma's. The calves with their stilted run, Old Spot with his waggish fun Await my visit to the farm; Every day bubbles up with charm -- Days out at my Grandma's. The orchard is bees' delight From dawn until drowsy night When sleepy kitty I shall rock As I hum softly with the clock -- While out at my Grandma's. It's there that the roses grow, It's there that the fireflies go, Where little girls can dance and sing And can do almost anything -- It's out at my Grandma's. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...KISS GRANDMOTHERS GOOD NIGHT by ANDREW HUDGINS KICKING THE LEAVES by DONALD HALL THE BOOK OF SCAPEGOATS by WAYNE KOESTENBAUM THE GREAT GRANDPARENTS by TED KOOSER |
