WORSHIP, by BOB JONES JR. First Line: I entered a vast cathedral Last Line: In the glory of the dawn! Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
I entered a vast cathedral, With a flood of golden light Falling soft on ancient pavement From the altar candles bright. The soft deep voice of the organ And the incense in the air Seemed to speak peace to the spirit, And to woo the heart to prayer. I knelt and talked to the Master In the quiet of the place-- And above the altar's glory I beheld the Saviour's face! But I also find His presence As I walk the busy street 'Mid the hurry and the bustle And the rush of many feet. I talk with Him in my workshop, As with weary hands I toil; I worship Him in my garden, While tilling the fertile soil. I roam with Christ in the forest, I stroll with Him on the plain, I journey with God through sadness, I cry to the Lord in pain. I find the Master at twilight When the long, hard day is gone, And at morn I meet the Saviour, In the glory of the dawn! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
