GOD'S MASTERPIECE, US HUMANS, by ANNA JIRAK KRAUSE First Line: They tell us that we have wheels in our Last Line: God, you created something there! Alternate Author Name(s): Gedanken, Ann Subject(s): Humanity | ||||||||
They tell us that we have wheels in our brains That in thought go round and around; And so, the little child always here gains Some trifles that will remain sound. To observe powerful machinery To harken to slightest echoes, To endeavor to solve a mystery The brainwheel of a child thus goes. And so the most marvelous of machine, Is the machine God created; Men try to duplicate in vain as seen, In robots that fail as stated. But the eyes that observe every detail, And the ears that harken wisely; And the brain that progresses without fail, That is the best machine surely. To distinguish all the right from much wrong, And to know the hot from the cold, To realize sorrow, rejoice in song, The bitter from the sweet unfold. Of all the machines of machinery, There is no machine can compare With God's masterpiece of humanity, God, You created something there! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SEVENS (VERSION 3): IN THE CLOSED IRIS OF CREATION by MARVIN BELL 11/10 AGAIN by LUCILLE CLIFTON BROTHERS: 5.
