STACCATO, by ALFRED FRANCIS KREYMBORG Poet's Biography First Line: Not even birds fear me Last Line: For removing my growths. Subject(s): Animals; Critics & Criticism | ||||||||
Not even birds fear me: they hop a hop aside, and then hop right back to oats strewn about by horse-heads in bags. Not even cats slink away: they come, climb and tear my shins and my calves, my knees and my hand -- safe from retort. Not even you, Dr. Critic, need trouble to wear your gloves when you bring clean surgical tools for removing my growths. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LINES FREELY TAKEN FROM CALLIMACHUS by CHARLES MARTIN FORM DESTRUCTIONIST?ÇÖSCULPTOR by ROBERT MCALMON POETS AND CRITICS by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS LINES TO A DON by HILAIRE BELLOC TO A REVIEWER WHO ADMIRED MY BOOK by JOHN CIARDI SONORA DESERT POEM by LUCILLE CLIFTON THE SEVEN ARTS by ROBERT FROST IN MEMORY OF DAVID KALSTONE by ANTHONY HECHT METAMORPHOSES: 16.
