Last Line: —as I attend!
Alternate Author Name(s): Le Bailly, Mrs.
Subject(s): Love - Loss Of; Past

WELL may I shrink to wake, and on me find
For a whole day the gift of speech conferred,
The choice of time, the choice of thought behind,
The choice of—every word!

For a whole day the gift of hearing given!
And uttered round me secrets without end;—
And speaking round me earth, or hell, or heaven,
—As I attend!
