TO AN UNFINISHED CHURCH, by BEULAH H. LYON First Line: Where once a simple dwelling stood, your walls Last Line: Forbid your roof to ever shut god out! Subject(s): Buildings & Builders; Churches; Cathedrals | ||||||||
Where once a simple dwelling stood, your walls Half-finished yet, with stately promise rise. Tall, tranquil pillars whitely emulate Your future tower companioning the skies. All day God's sunlight plays within those walls. As yet no roof forbids its entrance there. No murky, dim obscurity prevails To make the builders' path a shade less clear. Simple that sunlight is to bless and heal. Heaven-sent, His breeze dispells the lingering doubt. Ah, may the Spirit prisoned there within Forbid your roof to ever shut God out! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VIRGIN IN GLASS by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE HOUR BETWEEN DOG AND WOLF: 3.
