We build a dream to justify
The ideals we have held so high;
In clearer vision we behold
The plan and purpose of the whole.

Futility? Pray tell us why
Dreams endure, though the dreamer die;
Dreams are the cosmic bricks of gold --
We build a dream!

A dream is meant to signify
A deed to do, a battle cry
From searchers who new truths unfold --
From poets who of stars would mold
Temples to beauty in a world awry, --
We build a dream!
