INCONSTANCY, by FRANCIS CHARLES MCDONALD First Line: I sighed as the soul of april fled Last Line: And was glad for a day. | ||||||||
I SIGHED as the soul of April fled, And a tear on my cheek Told of the love I had borne the dead -- And I signed the cross, and bowed my head -- And was sad for a week. With a carol and catch the May came in With her wonderful way -- And I saucily chucked her under the chin, And tuned me the strings of my violin -- And was glad for a day. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BOB WHITE by FRANCIS CHARLES MCDONALD THE TRUTH-SEEKERS by FRANCIS CHARLES MCDONALD TO ALL FRIENDS by FRANCIS CHARLES MCDONALD TRANSPOSITIONS by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON BABY BELL by THOMAS BAILEY ALDRICH ON MUSIC by WALTER SAVAGE LANDOR I AM THE WAY' by ALICE MEYNELL MUTABILITY (2) by PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY ODES: BOOK 1: ODE 10.
