THE UNWARY HEART, by
First Line: Now the glittering dust of pain
Last Line: Darkling beauty holds her season.
Subject(s): Hearts

Now the glittering dust of pain
Cobweb-light is on my days,
Do not haste, O heart, again
From your grief in gallant ways.

Though the charities of time
Fold charmed wings about you, heart,
There are hills of night to climb
Yet, O friend, before we part.

Do not rise, my heart, again
Singing in so-rash unreason . . .
In new petalage of pain
Darkling beauty holds her season.
