MY HEART, by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU Poet's Biography First Line: Sleepless night, the rushing rain Last Line: Makes the voyage now in thee. Alternate Author Name(s): Lenau, Nikolaus | ||||||||
SLEEPLESS night, the rushing rain, While my heart with ceaseless pain Hears the mournful past subsiding Or the uncertain future striding. Heart, 'tis fatal thus to harken, Let not fear thy courage darken, Though the past be all regretting And the future helpless fretting. Onward, let what's mortal die. Is the storm near, beat thou high. Who came safe o'er Galilee Makes the voyage now in thee. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SEDGE SONGS: 1 by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU SEDGE SONGS: 2 by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU SEDGE SONGS: 3 by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU SONGS BY THE LAKE: 1 by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU SONGS BY THE LAKE: 4 by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU SONGS BY THE LAKE: 5 by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU THE POSTILION by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU THE POSTILLION by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU THE THREE GIPSIES by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU TO HIS ABSENT MISTRESS by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU TO THE BELOVED FROM AFAR by NIKOLAUS FRANZ NIEMBSCH VON STREGLENAU |
