Drink deep, O soul, of hours that swiftly pass; Quaff deeply, soul, of life's small slender stream; Most precious moments from a tilted glass Drop off unfeeling fingertips, unseen! Life feels a thirst beyond the outstretched arm, Beyond the sight of youth's unfailing eye; Beyond the wrath of Ares' bleak disarm, Or yet, Apollo's infinitesimal sigh.
