LIFE is a perilous voyage. Tempest-tossed,
By worse than shipwreck we are often crossed.
Like men at sea uncertainly we sail,
Chance at the helm to steer us through the gale.
Some well, some ill, we fare; but all are bound
For one sole harbour, underneath the ground.
