COUNTRY GODS, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: Silence, dryads' leafy keep
Last Line: Foot it round him, dancing, dancing.

SILENCE, Dryads' leafy keep;
Rocky fountains, hush your spraying;
Hush your babble, bleating sheep,
Pan is playing, Pan is playing.
O'er the clustered reed-pipe see
How his mellow lips are glancing;
Nymphs of fountain, nymphs of tree
Foot it round him, dancing, dancing.
